Well, so this is not a book related journal, but I did want to share a bit of news.
Today, I downloaded the newest album from John Mayer called "Battle Studies." There are few words that can describe how much I love this new album, though I predict that I will now be quite verbose in my describing how much I can't describe my love.
John Mayer has gone in a whole new direction with this album, and this whole new direction was a fantastic choice. From the opening chords of "Heartbreak Warfare," the first song on this 11 track album, I knew that I would not be able to stop listening. Indeed, as I write this I am listening to the album.
It is hard for me to ever admit when something or someone has made me swoon, but what the hell - I found myself doing so at the dulcet sound of his fresh new instrumentals, coupled with his rich voice. We hear a beautiful balance between voice and accompaniment, and they work together in a flawless team.
I say that this is by far his best album to date, and is a must listen for any John Mayer fan.
And now, I am off to write and listen to "Battle Studies." Thanks for listening!
Best,
Tom
